BHS #021: Navigating the Rapids to Olympic Gold– Joe Jacobi

Joe Jacobi is a 2-time U.S. Olympian. He and his Olympic Whitewater Slalom Canoe partner, Scott Strausbaugh, won the United States of America’s first and only Gold Medal in the Olympic sport of Whitewater Canoe-Kayak Slalom. They won the Gold Medal at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, Spain at the whitewater course venue in La Seu d’Urgell in the province of Catalunya.

Joe, also, represented the United States as a member of the U.S. Canoe & Kayak Team at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. He, along with his canoe partner Matt Taylor, finished in 8th place.
